What substrates can TechStone coatings be applied to?
TechStone systems can be applied to concrete, cement render, plasterboard, fibre cement board, and existing tile surfaces (with appropriate primer). Substrate preparation requirements vary by system -- consult the relevant Technical Data Sheet for specific guidance.
Are TechStone products suitable for exterior use?
Yes. Several TechStone systems are rated for exterior application, including Liquid Granite, Exposed Aggregate, and specific Mineral Sand formulations. All exterior-rated products include UV-stable binders and weather-resistant sealers. Check individual product specifications for exterior suitability.
What is the typical coverage rate?
Coverage rates vary by system and application method. As a guide: Microcement systems cover approximately 3-5 sqm per kg, Liquid Granite systems cover 1.5-2.5 sqm per kg, and Mineral Sand systems cover 2-4 sqm per kg. Use our online quantity calculator for project-specific estimates.
What temperature and humidity conditions are required for application?
Application should be carried out at ambient temperatures between 15-35 degrees Celsius with relative humidity below 80%. Substrate temperature must be at least 3 degrees above dew point. Avoid application in direct sunlight, rain, or high wind conditions.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Standard orders have a minimum of 20 sqm coverage equivalent. For sample quantities and small test areas, please contact our team directly via the enquiry form -- we accommodate project-specific requirements.
How do I request a physical sample?
Use the "Request a Sample" button on any product page or visit our Help Centre contact section. Specify the system and colour code you are interested in. Physical samples are shipped free of charge to addresses within the Philippines.
What are the typical lead times?
Standard colours ship within 5-7 business days from order confirmation. Custom colour matches and large-volume orders may require 10-15 business days. Rush orders can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis -- contact our team for expedited options.
How do I get a formal quotation?
Submit your project details through our enquiry form, including the system, colour selection, and estimated area in square metres. Our team will provide a formal quotation within one business day, including material quantities, pricing, and delivery timeline.
Do I need a specialist applicator?
We strongly recommend using trained applicators for all TechStone systems. While some systems can be applied by experienced tilers and renderers, optimal results require familiarity with cementitious coating techniques. We offer applicator training and can recommend certified contractors in your area.
What primer system is required?
Primer selection depends on the substrate type and the TechStone system being applied. Our standard primer range includes bonding primers for concrete, adhesion promoters for tiles, and moisture barriers for ground-floor slabs. The correct primer is specified in each system's Technical Data Sheet.
How long does installation take?
Installation timelines depend on the system, area size, and number of coats required. Typical residential projects (50-100 sqm) take 3-5 working days including primer, base coats, colour coats, and sealer. Larger commercial projects are scheduled based on a detailed project assessment.
How do I maintain TechStone surfaces?
Sealed TechStone surfaces require minimal maintenance. Clean regularly with a pH-neutral cleaner and soft cloth or mop. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or acidic cleaning agents. For high-traffic commercial areas, we recommend periodic resealing every 2-3 years.
Is there a warranty on TechStone products?
TechStone products carry a material warranty against manufacturing defects. Warranty terms vary by system and are detailed in the product documentation. Installation warranty is provided by the certified applicator. Contact our team for specific warranty documentation.
